All Care Chosen as First Recipient of Iowa Total Care’s “100 Providers in Iowa Literacy” Program

On November 12, All Care Health Center proudly became the inaugural recipient of Iowa Total Care’s “100 Providers in Iowa Literacy” program. This statewide initiative partners with healthcare providers to promote the powerful connection between health and literacy, focusing on engaging children in reading as part of their overall well-being.

As part of the program, All Care received a $500 award to enhance children’s literacy efforts in its lobby. With the funds, the health center has added 107 brand-new children’s books and a new rotating bookshelf to create an inviting and engaging space for young readers. The collection also includes Iowa Total Care’s featured book, Susie’s Big Day, along with educational materials designed to inspire curiosity, foster a love of reading, and promote health education.

This partnership underscores All Care’s commitment to addressing not only medical needs but also the social determinants of health, such as literacy, that impact a child’s lifelong success. By making books more accessible and fun, All Care and Iowa Total Care are working together to bring literacy to life for children and families in the community.

Keep an eye out for the new bookshelf on your next visit, and help us celebrate the joy of reading!
